Quincy University’s Brenner Library is home to an extraordinary rare book collection of more than 2,000 volumes, including materials dating back to 1472. Much of the collection was originally brought from Germany by Franciscan friars and features works produced between 1450 and 1500, with particular strengths in theology, history, and literature.

In addition to these early printed treasures, QU also houses an impressive rare Mark Twain collection, which is included as part of the tour.

 

Quincy University is a private Franciscan college in Quincy, Illinois, United States. Founded in 1860, it has an enrollment of approximately 1,300 undergraduate and graduate students across five constituent schools.
