FAQs

Frequently asked questions:

1) I tried to register but I did not receive an email to validate my registration.  What should I do?

The validation email comes from noreply@bidsforkids.auction    Please check your junk or spam folder.   If you still do not see it, email us at kiwanis@bidsforkids.auction or call or text Lori at 217-653-0365.

2) How will I know if I have won an item?

Those with the successful winning bid will receive an email notification.  If you are not getting the emails, check your junk or spam folder.  Be sure to mark the noreply@bidsforkids.auction email as a safe sender.  Alternatively, you can click on the My Account link to access a menu with a link to your winning bids.

3) How do I pay for an item?

Those who prefer to use a credit card, may pay online through a PayPal link.  You do not need to have a Paypal account.  The payment screen will allow you to log in to Paypal or directly below the login you can click on pay with credit card and enter your information.  If you won more than one item, you will be required to pay for each item separately by credit card.   To help the club generate the most cash and avoid credit card fees, you are welcome to pay by check or cash when you pick-up your item(s).

4) Where do I pick up an item?

The following convenient pick-up times are available at Quincy Town Center in the store space to the east of the Fountain Court:

Tuesday, March 26th            11:30am - 1:00pm and 4:30 pm – 6:30 pm

Wednesday, March 27th       11:30am - 1:00pm and 4:30 pm – 6:30 pm

Thursday, March 28th          11:30am - 1:00pm and 4:30 pm – 6:30 pm

Saturday, March 30th          11:30am - 1:00pm

5) What if the pick-up times do not work for my schedule?

We will work with you to make other arrangements.  Email us at kiwanis@bidsforkids.auction, include your phone number and we will contact you with alternative arrangements.

6) Once I place a bid on an item, how will I know if I am outbid?

You will receive an email notification if you are outbid.  If you are not getting the emails, check your junk or spam folder.  Be sure to mark the noreply@bidsforkids.auction email as a safe sender.  Additionally, when you are logged in, you can click on My Account and then click on a link for Outbid on Open Auctions to see a list.  You can also use this area and click on Winning Bids on open auctions to see the status of your winning bids.

7) What is the Watch List?

When you are viewing an item, you can click on a button to add to your Watch List.   Then if you go to My Account and click on Watch List, all of the items that you are watching will be displayed in one convenient place.  Unfortunatley, the Watch List is limited to 10 items. The watch list will NOT generate email notifications.

8) What is Auto Bidding?

You place a bid on the item, you enter the max amount you are willing to pay for the item. If the item is $1.00 but you know it is worth $15 to you, you can put a bid of $15 on the item. The seller and other bidders do not know your maximum bid amount. Then our system places bids on your behalf starting with the next bid increment for the auction. The bid increment is the amount by which a bid will be raised each time the current bid is outdone. It is predetermined based on the current highest bid. See the increment table below.
